Marine navigation charts (commonly called Admiralty Charts in Australia, and Naval Charts in the US) covering Australian waters, and waters under Australian influence, are compiled by the Australian Hydrographic Service, formerly a division of the Royal Australian Navy (see Government Departments and Agencies). Admiralty Charts are sold through retail outlets, called "Chart Agents", who have agreed to keep the charts up-to-date.
Admiralty Charts are available in traditional hard-copy (printed) form, in electronic form on CD-ROM, and as part of a computer-based navigation package which interacts with existing electronic navigation systems. Admiralty Charts are not posted for viewing on the Internet.
In Coffs Harbour the only approved Chart Agent is Coffs Harbour Slipway Pty. Limited (see Marinas, Boat Sales Yards, etc.).
The Chart Number for New South Wales North Coast waters is AUS 220.
